Structure: the blue marlin reaches its sexual maturity at the age of 2-4 years old. Most of the time they lay over 7 million eggs at a time. They have two caudal fins and two anal fins and pectoral fins. Appearance: The blue marlin is blue-black on the top and white underneath. A female is normally about 4 times larger than the male. Females weigh 1,200 pounds and are 16ft long, while the male is only 350 pounds. Both have 15 rows of cobalt-colored stripes and a long stout bill. |
